Perfect Love

There is no fear in love, because perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment.

The one who fears is not made perfect in love. 1 John 4:18

John tells us that the path out of fear is through love. It is so easy, and yet I’ve missed that path so often.  I think the path is something complicated, like a puzzle that I have to figure out.  How would your life change if you were able to leave fear on the side of the road and take a different path?

Stopping by, following your comment on my blog. Thanks for visiting!

    What beautiful pictures!

I suppose fear and doubt are interrelated… doubt is fear’s little brother that I deal with more often. Why is it that trusting in The One who made us is sometimes so difficult!? Working on that…

Love the question, Gayle and the photo… Fear has often taken my focus off of God and His deep love for me. And that spirit of fear is not from Him. Have a wonderful weekend..

Boy, do I agree!! My fear kicks my tail at all the wrong times when I should be walking in the path the Lord has laid before me. And He’ll encourage and hold my hand and heart… IF I choose to trust in Him. And Him alone, forever and ever.

“It is so easy, and yet I’ve missed that path so often. ” Oh, yes, I understand this. So thankful for His perfect love.

It’s true. The path out of fear is love. I love your question. It gives me the image of kicking fear to the curb, putting my hand on my hip and pointing my finger in its face, and saying (as I look down at fear cowering on the curb), “Now you stay!” And I’d say it with authority and meaning and fear would do exactly that – stay where it is crouched on the curb. Then, I’d turn on my heel and walk down an entirely different path.

Thanks for the question. I feel better now.

So many reasons to fear in life… and yet only ONE amazing reason NOT to… Jesus. He is so real, and the reality of His love helps me trust in Him and let go of my fears… Freedom is wonderful!

How would your life change if you were able to leave fear along side of the road and take a different path?
I would be opioid free, I would be Mrs. Morin and I would better known as Mom!
What a blessing to wake up and welcome another day! Thank you Heavenly Father!
    Thank you.

So much would change for me as well. I am terrified of dentists, and I had to laugh at myself over this post. I quickly wrote it, published it, and rushed off to the dentist and then was sitting there with all my muscles clenched tight!
But I will ponder this scripture this week for sure…

Thank you so much for visiting Gayle. It is a delight to meet you. I understand what you mean. It is so easy to let fear take over. If I can just learn to trust Him, there is a clear pathway to peace.
I am a novice quilter, but my Mom is an amazing one. I’m learning – slowly. :-)

Gayle, Another stunning picture of beauty along with a blessed verse of scripture. In answer to your question regarding “being able to leave fear on the side of the road”……I think of the tumbleweeds blowing in the winds that we have seen on our travels. Tumbleweeds are like those “pesky” fears that “tumble about” in our lives. Big “in your face” fears I can stand firm with His love alongside of me. However, those “tumbleweed” fears, seem “airy” to me, they don’t carry much weight per se, or so I think. Because I do not give them as much prayer time, they can be the ones that hit head on when they blow directly into my past. I must continue to learn that “ALL things, all hint of fear must be surrendered to Him. God does not give a spirit of fear but of peace and of sound mind. Blessings.
