Hi There…

Hi there… I’m Gayle and I want to welcome you Behind the Gate. My husband and I live in the Pacific Northwest, about an hour out of Seattle. I am a grandmother to three, and mother of three terrific grown children.   I work part-time as a  a nurse/caregiver instructor, but my passion is homemaking.  I love  gardening, sewing, and just being home and sharing real conversation over a cup of tea. So meet me Behind the Gate, as we savor the sweet, real  moments in life.   Comments are such an encouragement to me, and I love getting to know you as well.  It is my desire to  write and photograph with heart and voice, and it helps to know I am talking to someone besides myself!  So leave me a note, and let me know you stopped by.

Please Note:  This blog, photography and posts are copyrighted and  may not be used without permission. Just leave me a comment if you would like to use something, and I will get back with you.

Hello Gayle…it’s nice to ‘meet’ you! You live in an area that is close to my own heart as I moved here to Kansas from the mountains of British Columbia 11 years ago. I miss the mountains and the green freshness of that area but right now since we hit 111 yesterday I REALLY miss the 80 degree days and the cool nights. I love it here in Kansas though…it has it’s own beauty and I most especially love living in the country where we have only fields of corn and wheat etc as our neighbors. I hope you’ll stop by one day and say ‘hello’. Have a wonderful day!

Nice to meet you, Gayle. I am from South Florida. Like you, I am learning a lot about writing and photography through blogging. I’m also learning a lot about myself as I sit back and look at the journey right before me on a screen. I can see how God is shaping and molding me even in as little as a year, especially when I go over my old posts.

    I look forward to visiting.
    Much love!

I’ve been a caregiver for 4 years. I would love to read your blog, as I continue to move into the “simple” life.

Oh, I agree… it is so nice to know when people are touched by something we write. So hard to get others to comment sometimes though. Love your blog… beautiful!

Gayle, so nice to meet you. Followed you here from your comment on my blog today, and wanted to say this is another grandma writing from home who loves to quilt, sew and knit! I’m a few minutes SE of Portland so we’re “almost” neighbors. :) I also like to know that someone is reading with me so I’ll be visiting you behind the gate. Your site is so peaceful and lovely. Looking forward to getting to know you better.
